Be afraid

Be very afraid! Oh Cincity, as much as Shopgirlove loves you, and she does, you haven't got a chance. October should be about America's game, but really, Shopgirlove doesn't care. Welcome to the best football team in the history of the game. This will be a great year. A great year. Are you ready, football nation?

Viva La Reno

Okay, there's a whole lot of heavy in Shopgirlove's life right now--gee, now is starting to seem like forever. But, she was charmed, charmed I tell you, by this glimpse into Janet Reno's world. I always thought she got a bum rap. How much fun would she be to have a drink with? Speaking of music, Shopgirlove has added 18 concerts to her winter schedule. Yikes. We may actually have to hire a temp for the week of tech/first performances. Either that or Shopgirlove will be very late. So fire her already...honestly, she no longer cares.

The saddest news

I cannot keep Dutch. If I do, we will both end up homeless. Apartment number 5 just fell through. My heart is broken. I may not be back for a while. I'm sorry.

Shopgirlove is in heaven

First of all, the Jets are funny! The fans cheer when this man is replaced after trying, not once, but twice to walk off a horrific injury (not a good game for right ankles)! Oh, and all you doubters? Meet Mr. Moss. Long, broad, and everywhere he should be. And Shopgirlove hates to harp, but pocket? Brady could probably start and finish a novel for all the pressure he's under. Maroney! 20+! Good for you! Everybody's favorite little brother is growing up. Ooooh, and I like that Welker guy. Solid. Shopgirlove's only regret? (Well, other than missing the start--damn brunch! Although, corned beef, yum...) But Asante! It's just not the same without you. Gotta say, though: Ellis Hobbs? Sweet! That was what she kept expecting from the gazelle, Bethel Johnson. Whatever happened to him?

By the way, that Suisham guy? Oh my! Can we have him? Please?

FINALLY!

It's not easy, being green

Shopgirlove took a personality test. It turns out she's a short frog with a bow tie:

Your Score: Kermit the Frog

You scored 60% Organization, 55% abstract, and 74% extroverted!

This test measured 3 variables.

First, this test measured how organized you are. Some muppets like Cookie Monster make big messes, while others like Bert are quite anal about things being clean.

Second, this test measured if you prefer a concrete or an abstract viewpoint. For the purposes of this test, concrete people are considered to gravitate more to mathematical and logical approaches, whereas abstract people are more the dreamers and artistic type.

Third, this test measured if you are more of an introvert or an extrovert. By definition, an introvert concentrates more on herself and an extrovert focuses more on others. In this test an introvert was somebody that either tends to spend more time alone or thinks more about herself.

You are mostly organized, both concrete and abstract, and more extroverted.

Here is why are you Kermit the Frog.

You are both somewhat organized. You have a good idea where you put things and you probably keep your place reasonably clean. You aren't totally obsessed with neatness though. Kermit is also reasonably tidy. He'll even dress up for interviews.

You both are sometimes concrete and sometimes abstract thinkers. Kermit spends a lot of his time as a reporter collecting facts, but he is also the author of the dreamy song "The Rainbow Connection." You have a good balance in your life. You know when to be logical at times, but you also aren't afraid to explore your dreams and desires... within limits of course.

You are both extroverts. Kermit gets along with everyone. Sure a few folks annoy him, but that's just because they are annoying. Kermit likes to meet new people when he does his job as a street reporter. You definitely enjoy the company of others, and you don't have problems meeting new people... in fact you probably look forward to it. You are willing to take charge when necessary or work as part of a team.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Kermit starred on Sesame Street years before The Muppet Show.

Maybe everything does happen for a reason...

Not to go all karma, sappy, whatever, but things have been falling into place lately. Shopgirlove kicked some serious derriere this last week. She is still up in the air at work, but she is finally at that place where, should things go south, she can feel good about her contribution.
More to the point: she found somewhere she wants to live! And someone with whom she wants to live! Not to mention--someone who wants to live with her!
Maybe all of this was just a way to get Shopgirlove to consider a situation that she would normally have discounted for its location despite the fact that the potential future roommate is such a peach!
Whatever the circumstances, it's a relief to know there are good things out there.
Oh, and she's dating.
