I cannot keep Dutch. If I do, we will both end up homeless. Apartment number 5 just fell through. My heart is broken. I may not be back for a while. I'm sorry.

Oh NOOoooo! Shopgirlove, I am SO sorry. Seems like the housing gods are giving you nothing but grief these days, but to make you give up Dutch--It's just cruel.
Have you heard of the websites that advertise dog-friendly apartments? I know that you can Google
"dog friendly" apartments "los angeles"
or "dog friendly" apartments "new york"
or --name your city--, and you'll probably find something listed. And there's a whole website that's about dog-friendly everything:
http://www.dogfriendly.com . They have links to some dog-friendly rental and apartment sites at

I don't know if those would help you out or be apartments that you can afford, but you could try whatever city you live in and see.
