That's all, Folks!
So, tomorrow, I will go to HR. It won't be pretty. I wonder how it will end?

Well, well, well. Shopgirlove has had quite a time of it, lately. However, last Friday, things got physical. And not in an Olivia Newton John kind of way. The verbally abusive and strangely untouchable young woman at work (a.k.a. "The Nosebleed") was handing Shopgirlove a package, and she shoved. One moment, Shopgirlove's hands were 18 inches in front of her. And then they were three inches in front of her. But not of their own volition. Shopgirlove realizes that this is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but given the culture of her office, it was rather shocking. Also, this is the closest Shopgirlove has ever come to being assaulted. She attended a Quaker school and has no first-hand knowledge of violence. Nor does she wish to. Conflict averse would be an understatement where she is concerned. She enjoys problem solving and loves to find ways to turn a bad situation around. She does not readily embrace conflict and basically just wants to get along. Like Rodney King.
Shopgirlove might be done. Stick a fork in her.

So, the boy wonder of the Bush administration wants to "spend more time with his family"? Mr. Evil is exiting stage left, before the accounting is completed and with no accountability for his contribution to our current horrors in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. I had better things to do than serve my time in Vietnam. Yes, him. Well, bye bye, psycho. Enjoy your retirement, you nasty little man. Your history of war crimes and fascist leanings are a legacy you can never overcome. Good riddance! May this country be stronger than your influence.
Although, those of us fighting the good fight aren't sure.

Fran P., thank you sooooo much for your sympathy around the Presidential commutation. Shopgirlove knows that she is something of a wonk/geek and it's nice to know that others are disturbed since she is often the only one freaked out by overlooked moments in our contemporary existence. Such as the "For Ever Stamp." Why? Why? Have we ever been sold such a bill of goods? It evokes memories of those terrible massacres of tree bark in my region that trumpeted the union of Joey & Steph "4 Eva"! Oh boy. Why are Americans not taking to the streets? They are exhausted, over-worked, under-insured, and distracted by their credit card debt.
Also, not everyone is as smart and astute and terribly clever as Fran P. and Shopgirlove.
And, Who me? Bwarrr harrr harrr! King Dutch in red heels? Thank you for the light touch and your understanding. This is a difficult, but limited, time, and Shopgirlove appreciates your kind words. She plans on keeping her head down and barreling through. Her goal is, as always, to rise above. And write the Great American Novel. Or get her laundry done. She's not sure yet.
Stay tuned.
Kissy, kissy,
Shopgirlove

Scooter Libby shall serve no time? Really? Who should go to jail, then? I mean, even Paris Hilton did time. Not much, but she served. Traitors to their country used to be executed.
Not that Shopgirlove loves the electric chair, but it is interesting how things change. Does justice owe allegiance to the powerful? Oh dear, is she Continental? That can't be good...Shopgirlove remembers being proud of her country's willingness to prosecute the powerful. How naive. Shopgirlove is going to crawl back into her stockroom and try to figure out what is going on in this once-glorious-country.

Well, Shopgirlove tried to post. Chez Shop has rather intermitent connectivity at the moment and it has affected my ability to share with you, my darling loves.
There is a large pot of chili on the stove and King Dutch has a new bone--one of those green and white jobs that actually lasts longer than 15 minutes.
Did Shopgirlove tell you about the mysterious case of the red shoes? Well, King Dutch doesn't like his antibiotics. They make him a little sick and he resents them and his Mommy no end when he has to take them. So, for a solid week, I came home to a different chewed-up red shoe in the living room each and every day. Not the second of a pair but one of a different one each time. Now, perhaps Shopgirlove is not au currant with dog psychology, but I heard they were color blind? How then, did King Dutch manage to find and destroy one of every pair of red shoes? He never varied. No black shoes, no brown. Only red. And, by the way, how did Shopgirlove end up with so many red shoes? I do love red, but I had no idea I owned so many red shoes. Who am I? Imelda Marcos?
I will be somewhat reclusive this summer. My professional situation is tenuous at best and my personal life is barely hanging on. Will you check in on me later? I cannnot express how much your loyalty has meant to me...Shopgirlove is going through quite a transition at the moment and she knows that the blogger-karma is not tilting in her favor, but she thinks she's worth waiting for. She/I is/am grateful for the warm and fuzzies you send this way.

No, Shopgirlove has not been very good at the whole communication thing. She has been trying her best to not get kicked to the curb in her new job. Which is harder than it should be. More about that when she has finished her probation period. It will be a good story, eventually.
Also, shopgirlove has to move. Again. It's a long, sordid tale which will be told eventually. Let's just say that some people will go to extraordinary lengths to secure the lease for an apartment in Cambridge. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
King Dutch went to the hospital last week with a UTI. See, this is why I don't have children. I would never get any sleep! Never! He's fine, but he doesn't really like his meds. As though I like giving them to him...yeah, not so much.
Guess what, though? Life is a grand thing if you take it with a grain of salt and Shopgirlove has plenty of salt. To go with her tequila.
The goal here is to return to the daily postings and witty recaps to which we were accustomed. Lord knows, Shopgirlove has a lot recap.
So, let's meet back here tomorrow night and see what happens.
Love you all!
