the best and worst of a day in retail

So, why do I work here?

Shopgirlove is more than a little disgruntled. She asked Nosebleed for a stamp. Nosebleed said no because it would waste postage since we would need two stamps. (It would've cost 24 cents more than necessary for two stamps to mail an over sized envelope.) The person to whom Shopgirlove was mailing is worth $70,000 a year. Shopgirlove would cost the department approximately $5.00 by going to the mail room and metering the envelope, so, at the end of the day, our department spent $4.76 to save $0.24 mailing to a meal ticket. Swell. Not to mention how much time Shopgirlove had to waste when she went to the mail room. Really, job well done, Nosebleed! Morale boosted and department financially secure. Oh, you rock, sistah! Crapola. That on top of the technological and collegial challenges Shopgirlove has been confronting on a daily basis: sayonara job. I'm sending my resume to anyone who will accept it.
